Pinas sa Gawang Banyaga

Ito na siguro ang huli kong post para sa taong ito - at least makapag-paramdam ako bago mag holiday. =)

(6) Universal Studios Logo
Alam niyo ba na nakita ang Pilipinas sa Universal Studios Logo? Yun ang unang umilaw na bansa kaya virtually Pilipinas ang unang nakita! hehe ang babaw no? Kuya ko ang nakapansin nito nung maliliit pa kami. Tumingin ako sa youtube - hindi ko alam kung ang screen lang namin ang problema o talagang malabo lang ang naka-upload dahil hindi masyadong makita ang shape na pilipinas. (5) Hajime no Ippo
May isang episode sa anime na nabanggit ang mga pinoy boxers. Hindi naman talaga matindi yun dahil kapwa asians din naman talaga ang naglalaban unless talentado ka kagaya ni Pacquiao. At kung manga lang din ang pag-uusapan, mukhang marami ng Pinoy boxers na na-feature. Ayoko talagang i-research ng mabuti dahil umaasa akong gawin nilang anime lahat at ayokong ma-ispoil. =p

(4) Medal of Honor
Wala akong makitang video sa internet. Kahit si kuya hindi ko naaalalang nilaro ito ng matagalan kaya hindi ko pa nakita to (bano ako sa mga 1st person shooting games). Anyway, mukhang extra lang siya dito pero pwede daw ditong gamitin ang ating National Hero - walang iba kundi si Dr. Jose Rizal. Click niyo na lang yung link ng Medal of Honor at basahin niyo yung "trivia" part. Pag namatay daw siya ay sasambitin niya ang katagang "Para sa aking bayan!" haha langya gusto kong marinig...

(3) The Five People You Meet in Heaven

"...THE LITTLE GIRL APPEARED TO BE ASIAN, maybe five or six years old, with a beautiful cinnamon complexion, hair the color of a dark plum, a small flat nose, full lips that spread joyfully over her gapped teeth, and the most arresting eyes, as black as a seal's hide, with a pinhead of white serving as a pupil. She touched the woven red fabric that wrapped around her torso and legs. "Saya." "Saya." Then came her cloglike shoes—"bakya"—then the iridescent seashells by her feet—"capiz"—then a woven bamboo mat—"banig"—that was laid out before her. She motioned for Eddie to sit on the mat and she sat, too, her legs curled underneath her. None of the other children seemed to notice him. They splashed and rolled and collected stones from the river's floor. Eddie watched one boy rub a stone over the body of another, down his back, under his arms. "Washing," the girl said. "Like our inas used to do." "Inas?" Eddie said. She studied Eddie's face. "Mommies," she said. Eddie had heard many children in his life, but in this one's voice, he detected none of the normal hesitation toward adults. He wondered if she and the other children had chosen this riverbank heaven, or if, given their short memories, such a serene landscape had been chosen for them. She pointed to Eddie's shirt pocket. He looked down. Pipe cleaners. "These?" he said. He pulled them out and twisted them together, as he had done in his days at the pier. She rose to her knees to examine the process. His hands shook. ''You see? It's a . . ." he finished the last twist ". . . dog." She took it and smiled—a smile Eddie had seen a thousand times. "You like that?" he said. "You burn me," she said. EDDIE FELT HIS jaw tighten. "What did you say?" "You burn me. You make me fire." Her voice was flat, like a child reciting a lesson. "My ina say to wait inside the nipa. My ina say to hide." Eddie lowered his voice, his words slow and deliberate. "What . . . were you hiding from, little girl?" She fingered the pipe-cleaner dog, then dipped it in the water. "Sundalong" she said. "Sundalong?" She looked up. "Soldier."

Pagpapasensyahan niyo na. Hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko na isama ang "sundalong" hehe.

(2) Yamato Nadeshiko "Paalam na! Aalis na ako!" line
Si ate ang nakakita nito. Although medyo tabingi ang tagalog niya, saludo ako sa effort na ibinigay ng japanese dubber. Wag niyong pansinin yung sub na tagalog. Mali yun. At sa aking palagay, "Paalam na. Aalis na ako" ang talagang sinabi ng tiya ni sunako. Tingin ko mas-okey ang pagtagalog ng japanese dubber na yan kumpara sa paghapon ng isang artistang pinoy na narinig namin sa isang teleserye na kung saan sumakit ang tiyang namin ni ate kakatawa. (1) Talim in Soulcalibur
Spinning Low Hiwa, Tuhod Slicer, Double Abaniko, Isa Hampas, Parabolic Sipa, Whirlwind Hambalos (mukhang masakit ang move na to haha), Tagga na Kamay, Tuhod Strike... etc. Mukhang sa Soul Calibur ka lang makakakita ng ganyang move list sa isang foreign video game. Natawa ako nung una dahil taglish pero pag purong tagalog eh wala namang maiintindihan ang mga banyaga... kaya pwede na rin. Natagpuan ko si Talim dahil fan ako ng Tekken. Tingin ko nakakataba ng puso na nagsama sila ng pinay sa roster. Para bagang, waw... Usually walang pumapansin sa atin pero heto't may mga hapon na nag-research tungkol sa atin. Tumingin lang ako ng ilang videos sa youtube at mukhang pinaka nagustuhan ko ay ang portrayal nila kay Talim sa Soul Calibur 2. Mas mukhang Pinay ang damit niya (although medyo revealing, na hindi naman nakapagtataka dahil mukhang matindi ang fanservice ng game na 'to). Tapos pag nakikita ko yung hat niya sa 4, napapa-what-da-hell ako. haha. Pati sa boses mas gusto ko yung sa 2. Pero over-all, astig talaga na gumawa sila ng pinay character. Hats off to Namco. =)
